Hi everyone and welcome to my page. Only 5 weeks today until our first game. Where does the time disappear to! My first year in control of the reins passed smoothly enough and i am looking forward to another enjoyable term once more.
Here at the Worthing Gents (as with most sunday sides) we enjoy a more laid back atmosphere than our saturday counterparts. I feel that this lends itself to a more pleasant blend of cricket for all those involved. Many of our players play on both days and do enjoy the games with the abscence of pressure that league cricket brings! Drawn games etc. Added to this we have half a dozen sunday gents which add there own nous and knowledge to the mix in varying amounts!
We very rarely play anything other than win/lose cricket and this is popular with the vast majority of people. Personally i feel the 40 overs per side we now play is a nice number which allows nearly all players to get a decent run with either bat or ball.
Our tour in May is now in place and we look forward to taking a good number to enjoy the hospitality of the Surrey region! We will be in contact to confirm numbers but do get the ball rolling if you are interested by getting in touch first!
That's everything in a Decent sized nutshell for now one thinks. In regards to the All Comers game it will be an invite only matter so we dont have (the unlikely event of) 30 players all wanting a game Any questions and i'm here for response and feedback,
